
Repair Corrupt \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM

Boot of your Windows XP CD, when prompted, select option "R" "To repair a Windows XP installation using Recovery Console, press R"
Select the Windows installation you would like to log onto, usually press 1 and enter.
On Windows XP Pro you will be prompted for your Administrator password. On Windows XP Home you will have instant hard drive access.
First you should create a Backup Folder and copy the files to be replaced into the folder before overwriting the corrupted files.
Now you need to delete the corrupted file.
And copy previous backup back into C:\windows\system32
Now reboot your computer, type
at the command prompt.
