Disable Password Caching in Internet Explorer (All Windows)

When you attempt to view a password-protected site, you are normally prompted to type your username and password with an option to "Save this password in your password list". This tweak can be used to disable the ability for users to save passwords.



Open your registry and find or create the key below.



Create a new DWORD value, or modify the existing value, called "DisablePasswordCaching" and set it according to the value data below.



Exit your registry, you may need to restart or log out of Windows for the change to take effect.

Registry Settings

User Key: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\

Internet Settings]

Value Name: DisablePasswordCaching

Data Type: REG_DWORD (DWORD Value)

Value Data: (0 = default, 1 = disable password cache)
